Caribbean music, originally of Jamaica, has become some of the most popular music in the world.

Reggae - Reggae only came about as a distinct genre in the 1960s.Reggae is a genre that grew out of several other musical styles, including Jamaican music, ska mento, R&B.
Calypso - Calypso is a genre of Afro-Caribbean music that comes initially came from the island of Trinidad, Like other Caribbean music, calypso is heavily rooted in West African traditional music, and was originally used as a communication method between slaves, as well as a form of entertainment.
Ska - Ska became popular in the early 1960s. Ska music, a genre of Jamaican music which comes from mento and calypso music, combined with American jazz and R&B, Ska music was made to dance. The music is with a fast beat, quick and exciting.
Soca - Soca is a style of music origianally started in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago.Soca is a combination of traditional calypso and classial Indian Music
Mento - Mento music started as a distinct style of Jamaican music in the early part of the 1900s,Mento, much like other Caribbean folk music, is a combination of African & Latin rhythms, and Anglo folksongs
Rocksteady - Rocksteady emerged in Jamaica in the late 1960s. It had major influence on reggae music, which became the predominant music genre in Jamaica.
